Gateway Conference Superintendent Nominee

The Gateway Superintendent Selection Committee is pleased to announce Pastor Tyler Boyer as the Nominee for Superintendent of the Gateway Conference.


The Selection Committee unanimously believes Pastor Boyer has the skills, capacity, and conference experience to shepherd Gateway through this transition as we seek to increase our denomination's missional effectiveness. Pastor Tyler's Bio:

Tyler is an ordained elder in the Gateway Conference of the Free Methodist Church. He is the senior pastor of Knox Knolls Free Methodist Church in Springfield, Illinois where he has been serving since 2012. He is a graduate of Greenville University, Asbury Theological Seminary, and he has completed a D.Min in Spiritual Formation at Lincoln Christian University. He has served on the Gateway Conference Ministerial Education and Guidance board for nearly nine years and mentored women and men as they have launched into ministry. His publications include a series of prayer books and articles for Light + Life.


Along with his ministry work, he has taught undergraduate college courses for twenty-two years at several schools, including Greenville University and Asbury University. Beyond teaching as an adjunct, Tyler has taught courses in History and Polity and Wesleyan Theology for Gateway Conference and Wabash Conference to help multicultural pastors move forward in their ordination processes.


Tyler is grateful for the support of his wife Cindy who teaches high school science at Rochester High School, his son Brennan who will be graduating from Greenville University, and his daughter Emelia who will be graduating from Springfield High School.
